Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 - Screen and Pen Calibration

Wacom's penabled technology is almost never spot on.  Furthermore, when the pen is close to edges the pen behaves quite radically.  Curiously, the best way to hold the pen for precision is to hold it vertically--which is NOT normal for us human beings.  So, to improve our pen's accuracy we can perform calibration.

There are two methods for calibrating our system.  The first is by Microsoft, and the second by Wacom.  The first method is often quite simple, but the second one may yield better results.

If you are using a version of the Yoga tablet that is compatible with Wacom Active Electro Static Pen then your accuracy is usually better than Penabled, but the calibration process would be similar.

Note: I am using Windows 10.

How to calibrate using Microsoft Windows' Tablet PC Settings:
- Hit Win key and type: Tablet PC Settings.
- Open the first option given.
- You will see a window with the title Tablet PC Settings.
- Click on the "Calibrate..." button.
- Click on the "Pen input" option.

If you perform calibration and it yields worse results then you can go back and press the "Reset..." button to restore the default settings.

Wacom Control Panel:

A two button pen gives you more options.  I recommend the Fujitsu LifeBook Digitizer (more info, purchase one)

How to calibrate with Wacom's Control Panel.
- Hit the Win key and type: Wacom Pen
- Click on the first option.  Alternatively you can browse with Explorer to "C:\Program Files\Tablet\ISD" and open ISD_ControlPanel.exe
- If this is your first time running the software you may be prompted for some additional settings before getting to the main window.
- Once in the software you can click on the "Calibrate..." button.
- Touch the targets (there will 4 of them) and then click on the "Finished" button.
- If this calibration is not sufficient then you may have to select the "Run Additional Edge Calibration" button.  I think there are 25 targets to click this time, so this could be provide better overall calibration.

 As always, hold the pen in the way you naturally would.
